Emergency Vet - Falmouth

We had a great week of pet visits, quest speakers, and veterinary experiences here at Emergency Vet camp. 🐈 💛 🐕 Be sure to keep scrolling to enjoy pictures from the week.

Overview of the Week

Monday: Spark's Ark came to visit and showed us some of the animals he rehabilitates. Dr. John, a local vetereinairan, also came to speak with the kids. We launched our classroom "vet's office," where campers apply their growing veterinarian knowledge to operate a stuffy vet's office.
Tuesday: We learned about agility courses, and tried to create our own. The owner of Charlie's Friends came and shared their experience running a doggy daycare.
Wednesday: We learned about stethoscopes, and practiced listening to a dog's heartbeat
Thursday: We made dog and cat toys, many of which will be donated to a local shelter. Cindy Kivler, who is a local therapist and school social worker, brought in her dog, who she uses to teach clients about breathing.
Friday: We reviewed our learning from the week, and also made clay animals.

Week at the Sandy Spa

WEEK AT THE SANDY SPA ON COUSIN'S ISLAND DaVinci's Spa week is all about health beauty and science. We talk about healthy diets, exercise, products, and friendships. Here were some highlights of our week! Spa Products One of our big focuses at the sandy spa is that it is so important to know what you are putting on your body. Organic can be expensive and sometimes misleading. We made all sorts of spa products this week: Sugar Lip Scrub Avocado Face Masks Foot Scrub Hand Sanitizer Goat Soap Bath-bombs Almost every product we made contained ingredients that are most likely already in your pantry. And many of our products were edible. Exercise At the Sandy spa, a healthy life style is so important to us so we touched upon diet and exercise. Eccentric Art - Falmouth

Dear Families, Eccentric Artists enjoyed a variety of quirky crafts this week. Be sure to keep scrolling to see all the activities your camper enjoyed. Overview of the Week 3D art: campers represented an animal or person in three ways: tinfoil, clay, and cardboard. Jewelry: artists made friendship bracelets, pins, and also enjoyed "jewelry stations," where they were invited to assemble a variety of jewelry types. Home decor: Dream catchers, napkin rings, wind chimes, oh my!! We made a variety of crafts to adorn the home. Sensational Sea Life: Falmouth!

Dear Deep Sea Explorers, It was a fin-tastic week at camp! 🐟 🐠 Campers explored the zones of the ocean with a variety of interactive crafts, a field trip, and a live lobster visit. Camp Highlights Ocean folders: Students created interactive folders that teach about the three primary ocean zones: sunlight, twilight, and midnight. Across the week, they learned about the types of animals and plants that live in each zone. Lobsters: campers enjoyed a live lobster visit and learned about the important role lobsters play in Main's economy and ecosystem. Field trip: campers spent Thursday at Wolfe's Neck, engaging in a beach scavenger hunt and a hearing a talk from a local scuba-diver.
