Monday
On Monday, campers learned about the responsibilities of a doctor. They made doctor coats and thought about the tools doctors needed. They also made life-sized cut outs of their bodies, and drew in their nervous system.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, campers studied the human heart and the circulatory system. They considered ways to keep your heart healthy, and also paid close attention to what causes heart rate to increase and decrease. They made cardboard models of hearts.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, campers explored the digestive system! They made "bile" and watched how the acidity of the bile helps break down food. Additionally. campers zoomed in on the respiratory system and learned how lungs impact the human body. They made lung models out of balloons, and also watched how their bodies expand and contract during breathing exercises.
Thursday
On Thursday, campers played life-sized operation! Campers also learned a bit more about the digestive system, and made model intestines.
Friday
On Friday, campers listened to a guest speaker, social worker Cindy Kivler, teach them about the human brain and neuro-plasticity. Campers also enjoyed sprinklers & popsicles in the afternoon.
