Monday

On Monday, senior campers made art portfolios to store their work from the week, while younger campers explored different art materials. In the afternoon, campers enjoyed painting with acrylic paint AND even tried to paint with eyeshadow.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, campers started off their morning with some watercolors. Midmorning, what a special treat today. The found of DaVinci Experience, Judy Crosby, came in to do painting demos for the children and talk about earth pigments and homemade paints. Judy holds an art degree from the University of Southern Maine and loves to share her vast knowledge in painting with the children. Later on the kids got to try their own hand in earth paint, collecting soils and items from the woods to make paints and paint brushes. We learned about why different soils are different colors and got creative with our art utensils.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, we enjoyed the most creative and delicious day of the week! We used food our our medium today. We started off simple with some whip cream paint. In the afternoon we smushed fruits, mixed spices, and used condiments to create amazing works of art.

Thursday

On Thursday, campers made their own watercolor. The campers made some beautiful nature scapes with their own homemade water colors. In the afternoon we smashed chalk and mixed with water to make chalk paint.

Friday

On Friday, we finished off the week strong with a wacky paint day. Splatter paining, balloon painting, and then some fun in the sprinklers.

Week at the Sandy Spa

WEEK AT THE SANDY SPA ON COUSIN'S ISLAND DaVinci's Spa week is all about health beauty and science. We talk about healthy diets, exercise, products, and friendships. Here were some highlights of our week! Spa Products One of our big focuses at the sandy spa is that it is so important to know what you are putting on your body. Organic can be expensive and sometimes misleading. We made all sorts of spa products this week: Sugar Lip Scrub Avocado Face Masks Foot Scrub Hand Sanitizer Goat Soap Bath-bombs Almost every product we made contained ingredients that are most likely already in your pantry. And many of our products were edible. Exercise At the Sandy spa, a healthy life style is so important to us so we touched upon diet and exercise. Eccentric Art - Falmouth

Dear Families, Eccentric Artists enjoyed a variety of quirky crafts this week. Be sure to keep scrolling to see all the activities your camper enjoyed. Overview of the Week 3D art: campers represented an animal or person in three ways: tinfoil, clay, and cardboard. Jewelry: artists made friendship bracelets, pins, and also enjoyed "jewelry stations," where they were invited to assemble a variety of jewelry types. Home decor: Dream catchers, napkin rings, wind chimes, oh my!! We made a variety of crafts to adorn the home. Sensational Sea Life: Falmouth!

Dear Deep Sea Explorers, It was a fin-tastic week at camp! 🐟 🐠 Campers explored the zones of the ocean with a variety of interactive crafts, a field trip, and a live lobster visit. Camp Highlights Ocean folders: Students created interactive folders that teach about the three primary ocean zones: sunlight, twilight, and midnight. Across the week, they learned about the types of animals and plants that live in each zone. Lobsters: campers enjoyed a live lobster visit and learned about the important role lobsters play in Main's economy and ecosystem. Field trip: campers spent Thursday at Wolfe's Neck, engaging in a beach scavenger hunt and a hearing a talk from a local scuba-diver.
