Emergency Vet July 15 - 19 2024

Monday

We spent our day making lab coats, designing a vets office, and listening to our guest speaker, Sparks Ark, present his exotic animals.

Tuesday

An amazing mom came in with a fantastic presentation about dog agility and training. She talked about training service animals and the children loved it (shout out to Karen)!! The children also made their own human agility courses which was adorable.

Wednesday

A vet came to talk about how a vet check up at a vet's office works and passed out some check up sheets for the kids to use on their stuffed animals as practice. Then a sweet black lab came in and all the kids got to take her heart beat with a real stethoscope. Our pet visits in the afternoon were extra special when we got to meet two ponies (one miniature pony named Taco and one pony named Squid) and a turkey named Sweat Pea.

Thursday

Charlie's Friends doggie daycare and training came in to show the children some dog tricks and learn dog body language. The children had so much fun getting to know all the dogs and matching dog emotion flash cards with their matches. Later on the junior campers got to wash their toy animals and seniors got to make dog toys that we will be donating to the local shelter.

Friday
We finished out our jam packed week with some clay sculpting and sprinklers.

Pet Visits
Thank you so much to all the families that brought their pets to show to the children at Emergency Vet camp. They loved meeting them all and had such a great week!

DaVinci Diner - Falmouth

DaVinci Diner July 7-11, 2025 Dear Families, This week, chefs stayed busy creating a variety of delicious cuisine!  Monday On Monday, campers decorated aprons to use across the week. They also designed their dream restaurants and made meringue. Here were the learning takeaways from this cooking experience:  How to separate an egg How to listen for a change in noise from the beaters: a true chef can hear it and know when their meringue is done! Baking is all about chemical reactions. The egg whites, when beaten, mix with the air and take on a whole new consistency.  It is possible to under and over whip the meringue. BE CAREFUL ! Lastly, in almost any baking dish, you will find salt and vanilla. Believe it or not, salt actually makes sweets sweeter because the salt's tartness brings out the sweetness, and vanilla doesn’t taste good on its own but it is aromatic, and will once again bring out the sweetness and leave your dish smelling great. Tuesday On Tuesday we made bread...
