Emergency Vet Camp
Westbrook, June 20-24 2022
Monday
Campers brainstormed what it means to be a vet, and created their own vet's office in the classroom. Campers made lab coats and practiced doing animal check-ups on stuffed animals.
Tuesday
Tuesday morning we had a visit from Dr. Kris, a local veterinarian. We learned about animal safety and also traveled to different stations to explore lots of aspects of veterinarian medicine. In the afternoon we had a visit from Spark's Ark!
Wednesday
On Wednesday campers made official vet badges to go with their vet coats, and also made clay animals. We continued to practice their vet skills in their classroom vet's office.
Thursday
We made dog treats and dog toys to donate to a local shelter. We had a special visit from a therapy dog named Luna!
Friday
We enjoyed a variety of animal crafts. Seniors tried making beaded animals, Juniors made animal puppets, and both groups made origami dogs. In the afternoon we played in the sprinklers.
