It's getting buggy at DaVinci this week. 

Monday

On Monday campers made bug journals, studied the parts of a bug, and tried to build bugs with nature and legos. In the afternoon they made bug journals and studied bugs outside.

Tuesday

On Tuesday the classes made bug catchers and tried catching and releasing bugs. They studied the bugs they found and sketched them in their bug journals. Campers also studied ants and did an experiment that tested what kinds of food ants liked the best. 

Wednesday

On Wednesday campers studied bees! They learned about the important role that bees play in our ecosystem. They learned about pollination and planted flowers.

Thursday

On Thursday campers studied butterflies! They made butterfly nets and butterfly inspired art. In the afternoon the campers began studying for their entomologist "conference." 

Friday

On Friday we hosted our entomologist conferences. Each class presented for another class.

Eccentric Art - Falmouth

Dear Families, Eccentric Artists enjoyed a variety of quirky crafts this week. Be sure to keep scrolling to see all the activities your camper enjoyed.   Overview of the Week 3D art: campers represented an animal or person in three ways: tinfoil, clay, and cardboard.  Jewelry: artists made friendship bracelets, pins, and also enjoyed "jewelry stations," where they were invited to assemble a variety of jewelry types. Home decor: Dream catchers, napkin rings, wind chimes, oh my!! We made a variety of crafts to adorn the home. Sensational Sea Life: Falmouth!

 Dear Deep Sea Explorers, It was a fin-tastic week at camp! 🐟 🐠 Campers explored the zones of the ocean with a variety of interactive crafts, a field trip, and a live lobster visit.  Camp Highlights Ocean folders: Students created interactive folders that teach about the three primary ocean zones: sunlight, twilight, and midnight. Across the week, they learned about the types of animals and plants that live in each zone. Lobsters: campers enjoyed a live lobster visit and learned about the important role lobsters play in Main's economy and ecosystem. Field trip: campers spent Thursday at Wolfe's Neck, engaging in a beach scavenger hunt and a hearing a talk from a local scuba-diver.  Tide pools: campers learned about tide pools and made 3D tide pool models.
