Summer Time Slime

Monday

What a great first day of camp!

The kids made two ingredient slime using corn starch and conditioner. The slime had a great play-dough-feel to it.

After lunch and meditation time, the kids watched a tutorial video on how to safely make slime using borax, water, glue, and food coloring. We then got into three groups and rotated through stations of finger painting, slime making, and free draw.

Looking forward to a slimy, messy, terrific Tuesday!

Tuesday

Take a look at our attempted edible slime project!

We had rotation stations of free draw, water colors, and foam slime making.

Wednesday

Today the kids made unicorn slime, edible play doh, and shaving cream art!

So far we have made six different types of slime along with three different art projects! We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Thursday

Today the kids made a play doh slime. This slime was made of flour, water, vegetable oil, cream of tartar, salt and food coloring.

After lunch the kids did rotation stations of playing with slime, playing with foam and shaving cream, and free draw.

Tomorrow we will make our own slime tutorial!

Friday

Check out the kid's awesome slime tutorials!!

Dr. DaVinci Falmouth

Monday  To start the week, the junior campers had a drawing brainstorming session of what they knew about doctors. Seniors campers spoke to their knowledge and made doctor bags/briefcases out of recycled materials. Both groups created body models with which they could incorporate various systems and organs including the brain and nervous system—which the "big kids" dove into further. = Tuesday  For our doctors, the heart and circulatory system was the focus of Tuesday. They built their own stethoscopes and played heart rate game. This involved doing low intensity versus high intensity activities and then comparing their heart rates/pulses. Wednesday On Wednesday, campers learned about the lungs and the respiratory system. Both seniors and juniors created lung models (of different complexities). Then after talking about how the lungs fill up in a way similar to balloons, we held a balloon party—many campers were able to blow them up with their impressive lung capacities! Thurs...

eARTh - Falmouth

Monday Today was all about learning how to be a resourceful artist. We learned that we can use household items around us to make different art mediums. Today we used eye shadow, Caribic powder, and a textile medium base to create shimmery eye shadow paint. Late on we learned that we can use our own body as art utensils in our group foot and finger painting project. We ended with the concept of using our body as the canvas, with some awesome face painting! Tuesday What a special treat today. The founder of DaVinci Experience, Judy Crosby, came in to do painting demos for the children and talk about earth pigments and homemade paints. Judy holds an art degree from the University of Southern Maine and loves to share her vast knowledge in painting with the children. Later on, the kids got to try their own hand in earth paint, collecting soils and items from the woods to make paints and paint brushes. We learned about why different soils are different colors and got creative with our ...
